Danny & The Champions of The World: New single, video and September UK Tour

DANNY & THE CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD
New Single, Video And Tour
Fresh from the holy fields of Glastonbury, where they performed to rapt crowds not once, not twice, but three times, Danny and the Champions of the World are in top gear and heading down a motorway near you with an eleven date headline tour.  Known for their rocking live performances, the band have had audiences clamouring for more of the feel-good music hailed by Q Magazine as “a pure passion revue” and garnering critical acclaim daily.
First though, You Don’t Know (My Heart Is In The Right Place) is hitting virtual stores on the 8th of August, as the first single from the forthcoming album, Hearts And Arrows, released on the 18th of July.  Uplifting, rootsy and full of soul, You Don’t Know punches its message home with a conviction and certainty that’s not afraid to show some fragility behind its strength.  An atmospheric video by award-winning director Simon Minett shows the band at their best: in a rundown warehouse in Hackney, performing their hearts out.

Danny & The Champions of The World have also announced a UK tour in September. Full dates below:

Puro Instinct - Download free track featuring Ariel Pink + Watch video

Puro Instinct ‘Headbangers in Ecstasy’
Debut album released 12th September 2011 on Record Makers

Hailing from "a maelstrom of reinvention, reckless idealism, and rainbow-chasing" known as Los Angeles, Puro Instinct are the psychedelic pop discovery that's about to make your year look a while lot stronger.
The speech marks come courtesy of their mouthpiece, 24-year-old Piper Kaplan, who joined by her 16-year-old sister Skylar have cut one of the most striking and formidable pairings on the West Coast indie-rock circuit in recent years. Piper, and absurdly brilliant talisman, Skylar. Joined by an all-star squad of believers: Cody Porter, Jessie Clavin, Mike Baum, and Crazy Murray, they have forged a sound that falls into that rare space that feels both vintage and happenin', fun, young, freaky and sexy. A sound that's already made the year for all kinds of esteemed folks all around the world, from the likes of Gorilla Versus Bear in the States to dear old Blighty's NME, as their debut long-player 'Headbangers On Ecstasy' dawned upon them.
A long-term sibling-like kinship with local cosmic pop wizards Ariel Pink and his Haunted Graffiti, leading to R. Stevie Moore, Kenny Gilmore and sometimes even Ariel himself taking the helm on recording sessions or chipping in on the album and onstage. It's a harmonious and poignant union, Puro's hazy 'Stevie & Christy' vintage charm, mixed with giddy weirdo abandon, marrying with Haunted Graffiti's beautiful madness like they were born for each other. NYC's most notorious left-of-centre hit factory Mexican Summer - home to the likes of Best Coast and Washed Out - grant 'Headbangers...' release in America, and Record Makers (Sebastien Tellier, Kavinsky , TURZI) for the rest of the world.
Stilyagi’ (which features Ariel Pink) is a vivid showcase of the band at its most deranged and sweet peak.  While staples like 'California Shakedown' and 'Luv Goon' reveal a groove-stricken backbone that sets off Skylar's trademark intricate spiralling twangs with airy, naive tension, and a her big sis' darting, spectral chants and woozy wooing. Piper nods to  'Silky Eyes' as one of their finest three and a bit minutes in terms of nailing the bands idealist dream-weaving manifesto "A beautiful, omnipotent thing capable of fanning the flames of every feeling and communicating ideas that are too difficult or awkward to put into words.”

The Voluntary Butler Scheme: Exclusive free track + video ahead of album release

‘The Grandad Galaxy’ new album released 18th July 2011 on Split Records
Free track and video
“Many wonderful things have come out of the West Midlands – the balti, Steve Bull, the uniquely mangled vowel sounds of residents of Dudley – and to that list you can add Rob ‘The Voluntary Butler Scheme’ Jones.” GuardianGuide
When Voluntary Butler Scheme recently declared that the intention behind his latest album was “to blend all the different types of music I've been making together,” it seemed like a fairly insurmountable task – this is an act known for producing everything from Motown soul to J-Pop via Mark Mothersbaugh-style poptronica. But Grandad Galaxy is truly a musical cabinet of curiosities, bursting at the seams with strange sounds, melodies, effects and songs. Part instrumental, it follows the direction that the ‘Scheme, aka Dudley-based bedroom-pop architect Rob Jones, has been headed in from debut LP At Breakfast, Dinner, Tea via the recent cut-and-paste Chevreul EP
